At Fitness and Rehabilitation, we believe true wellness goes beyond physical health. That’s why we integrate life coaching into our services—to help you strengthen not only your body, but also your mindset, purpose, and ability to move forward with purpose, clarity and confidence.
What message do you think your pain is communicating to you?
What do you do when you experience pain?
How effective are you in managing pain?
Pain is a warning signal that the body has been injured or is at risk of injury. Nerves carry these signals from the body to the spinal cord and brain. Before the brain fully interprets the message, the spinal cord triggers a protective reflex that causes automatic withdrawal from a harmful position, movement, or object.
Once the signal reaches the brain, it is first processed based on past experiences and emotions and then enters conscious awareness, where a voluntary response is formed. People experience pain differently, influenced by health, genetics, prior experiences, and beliefs about pain.
Effective pain management involves recognizing automatic protective reactions and choosing purposeful, healthy movement responses. Physical therapy helps identify, correct, and restore optimal postures, joint and muscle function, and movement patterns to facilitate your return to optimal daily living.
